Since 2018, Host has invested over $100 million in redeveloping the site, and together with current and future tenants, we are approaching $1 billion in total capital investments. These investments are projected to generate $32 billion in economic output and increase Louisiana payrolls by $8.6 billion by 2027.

WHAT WE DO

Multimodal Access, Streamlined Operations

Located at mile marker 169 on the Mississippi River, Avondale Global Gateway provides strategic access for vessel, truck, and rail operations. This multimodal platform is served directly by Union Pacific and sits less than one mile from five additional Class I railroads and major highways, enabling efficient cargo movement to markets nationwide. On-site storage and integrated operations reduce cargo touches, lowering cost, minimizing risk, and speeding throughput.

Avondale Global Gateway is helping shape the next chapter of economic growth for Louisiana and the surrounding region. Avondale Global Gateway is projected to create more than 2,000 on site jobs and over 3,000 supporting jobs across Louisiana. Independent analysis estimates a total economic impact of $32 billion, with significant growth in payrolls and tax revenue.

This large scale industrial campus supports warehousing, storage, logistics, and on site production opportunities. The site’s scale, infrastructure, and material handling capacity support a broad mix of cargo and industrial uses while enabling scalable growth. Community Outreach

For over 100 years, HOST has been committed to actively supporting the communities where we operate. Since opening the gates of Avondale Global Gateway in 2018, our team has been deeply involved in local events and initiatives that make a positive impact on the West Bank community. These efforts include the Second Harvest Food Drive, the Love the Boot Clean-Up Initiative, the Son of a Saint Mentee Tour & Panel Discussion, and many more.

That commitment continues through direct investment. In 2022, Host donated $500,000 to support the NOLA Coalition and other regional charitable organizations. More recently, contributions include $50,000 to the Youth Empowerment Project, $10,000 to Jefferson Dollars for Scholars, and $5,000 to Angel’s Place.
